With its intuitive storytelling, narration and illustrations, STORYBEAN gently carries the reader within the tale itself. Children thus become naturally aware of a story’s evolution and flow, grasping the plot twists through the eyes of the protagonists. 
The idea was to stimulate the child’s sensibility through this process of identification and empathy. Of course, given the universal nature of those timeless children’s stories, we strived to go beyond the obvious, and sometimes dogmatic moral, by giving the children a chance to interact and genuinely experience the tale for themselves. 
With the utmost care and dedication to minute details, we have thus given new birth to those stories that have cradled our youth. 


1) Story & Illustration 

- Stories in STORYBEAN - 
Classic stories such as the Nutcracker or the Three Little Pigs have been told and re-told for years beyond count. That is why StoryBean decided to revamp those tales in a children friendly way. BRIEF BUT CONCISE, young readers shall now be able to fully enjoy those stories in record time, without the risk of their attention drifting away. 

- Illustrations in STORYBEAN - 
Creativity, sensibility and comfort; those are the core values of our artwork. Far from those vivid, nearly blinding hues too often used in most children’s book illustrations, StoryBean has opted for a wider, more innovative palette. With much less strain for the eye, children are now offered a more comfortable and emotional reading experience. Also, in our constant effort to transcend clichés and conformism, special care was also given to character design. Rather than using those redundant sketches and hues, characters were re-created to convey the BEST POSSIBLE ATMOSPHERE for the story itself. 


2) Narration 

Our voice actors boast an impressive resume in curriculum research and development, narrating with the highest possible level of diction and expression. Our repeat function thus represents a most useful linguistic tool for listening and speaking. 
Thanks to such professional narration, children can fully bask in the story’s drama and emotional flow. With every plot twist, our voice actors shall kindle their sensibility, further immersing them into the wonder of the tale. 


3) Swipe Action 

Every story features 3~5 scenes involving interactive swipe action. Carefully handpicked for the MOST PIVOTAL MOMENTS of the plot, children can now participate in the story itself, experiencing climatic scenes in a fun way. 
Every successful swipe action grants the reader a star, which can be collected on our Star Tree Page. A good chance for parents out there to turn this into a game, “Collect all the stars to get your reward~”, thus adding a little more spice to the children’s reading experience. 


4) Bedtime story page 

On top of a soothing lullaby, this page gives you the option of keeping the narration as it is, or to become the storyteller yourself, putting your own child to bed. A most heartwarming feature for all mothers out there… 


5) Naming Page 

Input your name on this page to find it featured on the main menu, making this your very own personal tale! 


6) User Interface 

Simple yet intuitive, the UI was designed with children in mind, allowing them to easily and comfortably choose their own custom settings. An in-read drop down menu was also added, which, along with various buttons, shall make it most convenient to change any desired setting while enjoying the story. 
For instance, readers can change language, narration or sound effects settings at will. They also have the option of repeating part of the narration, or view the script in various ways, all of that while reading the story, making the whole experience all the more practical and comfortable.
